It was just a fitting option for a flash stay in Bedale with excellent value for money. Enjoyed the sunny courtyard while having perfectly cooked haddock and delightful beef with Yorkshire pudding during lunch. Make sure to explore the castle in the village for a nice walk afterward.

Charming courtyard garden, Scenic village location, Rustic charm
The TV in the room is absurdly small!!! Wi-Fi connectivity issues need attention!!! Steps between the pub and rooms may deter guests with mobility concerns!!! The muddy parking area is a horrible first impression!!!

This place felt like a little gem. The decor was charming and gave a cozy, historical vibe. The room came stocked with a variety of beverages, which was a nice touch. I appreciated the attention to detail like cotton eye pads and a good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a highlight with fresh options and well-presented dishes. The staff were friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. On the downside, the area had minimal phone signal, which might be inconvenient for some. I noticed that the Wi-Fi had connectivity issues at times too. the lack of dessert options on the menu was a bit disappointing. I had a memorable stay and would recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

A hidden gem for couples retreat
Had a lovely dinner and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff even changed breakfast timing to match my needs, that's real effort.
it wasn’t exactly wallet-friendly but worth every penny.

Dog-friendly rooms come with a solid en-suite bathroom that allows for clean-up duty after a day of adventure. Plenty of lovely walks nearby for those with four-legged companions. There's a cozy bar area with decent real ales for a relaxing end to the day.
Supply of cold water seemed nonexistent, leaving only hot water for showers. The car park gets pretty muddy after heavy rain. a touch of gravel might do the trick. The TV remote offered less than a fully enjoyable experience, leaving buttons on the side as the backup plan. While these are minor, they can add up during a stay. I'd still come back without hesitating.
